Once a poorhouse, infirmary, orphanage, and nursing home, it has witnessed more than 1,700 deaths—and countless reports of shadow figures, phantom voices, and unseen footsteps. By daylight, wander the asylum’s most storied spaces at your own pace, where history speaks and, at times, whispers, and the past still stirs just beyond the veil. Discover the stories of those who lived and worked here through historical plaques and photos displayed throughout, with a touch of the paranormal that has made Rolling Hills famous. May 17, 2026 -Painting with the Paranormal 1:00p-5:00p-$69p- Event includes: All painting supplies, pre-sketched canvas (spooky mystical theme, of course), soft drink & snacks, plus a Self Guided Asylum Tour. Your supervised painting class will be led by an experienced artist. You will also receive an overview on the history and haunting of Rolling Hills and free roam of the Asylum. Ages 14-17 with a school ID when accompanied by a parent Ages 18+ with valid ID only - . We will not admit anyone suspected to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and strictly enforce this zero (that means even a single alcoholic beverage) tolerance policy.
